Vice President of IEEE Circuits and Systems Society & Professor at UPC BarcelonaTech
Eduard Alarcón-Cot holds an M. Sc. (National award) and Ph.D. degrees (honors) in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Catalunya (UPC BarcelonaTech). An associate professor at UPC, Eduard Alarcon has performed numerous directorial roles in the academic scene, including co-director of N3CAT, the center for Nanonetworks at UPC. He has co-authored more than 250 international scientific publications, 4 books, 4 book chapters and 4 patents, and has been involved in different National, European and US (DARPA, NSF) R&D projects. He is an elected member of the IEEE CAS long term strategy committee where he currently serves as Editor-In-Chief for the IEEE Journal on Emerging and Selected Topics in Circuits and Systems.

David Arroyo is the Innovation Technology Project Manager at GSMA, coordinating programmes such Digital Transformation, FutureNetworks and Internet of Things, implemented in Spain. With a background in Technical Engineering (Universidad Politecnica de Madrid), David Arroyo has also served bringing GSMA’s initiatives to Latin American operators following an intensive experience in both private (Voice and Mobile Data Project Manager at Vodafone) and public institutions (Technical Programmer for the Agricultural Ministry of Spain).
Innovation & Entrepreneurship Director at Bellavista Legal
Marta Príncep built a career of 16 years in the healthcare industry becoming Head of Central Nervous System Pharmacology department at Ferrer Pharmaceutical. She then moved on to the largest Biocluster in Catalunya (Biocat) as Innovation Director and Board Member for four years. Such expertise in the biomedical sector has brought her to key responsibility positions at Bellavista Legal, GAEM Foundation, Mind The Byte, and the Richi Foundation among others. Marta holds an Advanced Management Program at ESADE-Wharton School where she mastered in global growth strategy, business opportunities and financial challenges.

Javier Sendin graduated in Informatics from Universidad de Deusto and started his career as an informatics consultant. He then joined Telefonica, the major Spanish Telecoms company, for 14 years where he reached managerial positions in the areas of International Roaming and Customer Care, also served as CTO for the L2O Roaming Hub Company project. After a year in the US working as Operations Manager for Syniverse en Tampa, he finally joined GSMA in 2013 where we acts as Roaming Technical Director in the United Kingdom subsidiary (Director of International Roaming Expert Group and Interconnect Working Group).

Dr. Jordi Serrano Pons is a General Practitioner and the founder and CEO of UniversalDoctor, a social enterprise developing applications to facilitate multilingual communication between healthcare professionals and patients – winner of the United Nations World Summit Award for Global Champion of the mHealth category. He currently serves as a Health and Innovation Consultant to the World Health Organization (WHO), where he has coordinated international projects and seminars. In addition, Jordi serves as Innovation Consultant for various entities, including Fira Barcelona and healthcare organizations in Spain, and is now a Grand Jury member of the World Summit Award.
