The Collider 2019-2020

Unlock full potential of your research and improve society

What are we looking for?

The Collider works with the most prestigious Research Centers, Universities and Tech Transfer Offices. We want to identify the best technologies with world-changing potential and give scientists an opportunity to advance their research through real-life application.

In The Collider we strongly believe that the application of scientific investigation results to real-world problems may open new fields of research and bring profound advances in our understanding of the world.

In our experience, the science directly linked to application turns out to have a major impact within science itself. For this reason, we want to connect scientific and entrepreneurial talent to drive innovation together.

The programme focuses on identification of deep-tech technologies in the following fields:

Virtual reality

How do we help?

The Collider’s most important mission is to bring Universities and Research Centres closer to the Industry. In this way, the advancements made by scientists can be directly applied and tested in the business world. Bridging the gap between these two worlds will not only benefit the society and our day-to-day but will as well help researches to delve deeper into the investigation.

That is why The Collider organizes seminars to introduce The Lean LaunchPad approach into the local scientific ecosystem. This method helps universities to assess the viability of the commercialization of new technologies through building entrepreneurial ventures.

The Lean Launchpad became the gold standard for innovation and entrepreneurial training and was adopted by the US National Science Foundation. As a result, this method was deployed throughout the US at hundreds of universities, colleges and new venture teams.

Lean LaunchPad Goals

The Collider Lean LaunchPad seminar is a 2-day seminar that provides an orientation to the methodology and is designed for TTOs and Innovation Managers from research institutions who want to develop a course for boost researchers’ entrepreneurial skills.

The programme provides an introduction to frameworks such as the Business Model Canvas, and processes such as Customer Discovery and Validation. But much more than that it will provide an approach to intertwine innovation, product and market validation into a cohesive learning experience which serves a triple purpose.

The Collider Lean LaunchPad is a joint initiative supported by MWCapital and The Catalunya Emprèn Programme of the Department of Economy and Research Affairs of the Catalan Government.
