It is undeniable that the connection between science and industry grows day by day. Every Scientific finding that happens , in some way, can be applied to companies. The union of these two worlds creates bonds that benefit our future.
For these reason the Catalonia Entrusted The Collider – MWC with the organization of the Train The Trainers LLP seminar, an initiative that promotes the rapprochement of universities and research centers with the industry. This two-day training is aimed at transfer managers and technicians from universities and research centers who work to create bridges between technological scientific advances and the market.
The 3r Edition of the Seminar was held in person on October 19 and 20 – 2021 at The La Salle-URV Congress Hall, in Barcelona with the participation of almost 70 experts in technology transfer and scientific entrepreneurship from Catalonia which was joined by representatives of Madrid, Castilla and León and Andalusia.
The seminar was given by Dr. Honoris Causa Jerome S. Engel. This Silicon Valley Guru has had a Successful career as a consultant and founder of companies in the United States , and is currently and adjunct professor at the University of California Berkeley and founding Executive Director of the Lester Center of Innovation Entrepreneurship.
The Main Content of the training again was the Lean LaunchPad (LLP) methodology. Developed at the Universities of UC Berkeley- Hass and Stanford , it is a method that helps universities evaluate the feasibility of commercializing new technologies through the creation of enterprises and companies. In addition to being adopted by colleges, universities and research teams around the world this methodology is beginning to be used in companies, incubators , accelerators and large corporations.
The Alumni of the Three Editions of this Seminar , together with those of the beneficiaries of the Collider’s OnCampus programs , make up The Community Scientific Emprendedora of Catalonia transfer experts and researchers as well as collaborating companies and institutions , form a Community aware of the Benefits of LLP which contribute to adapting said methodology to their respective organizations , enriching this Space that connects science , industry and entrepreneurship.
